Building Process (Part 1)

I got the van and it was literally an empty shell.....OH and I bought it in Florida so had a loooooong drive back to Michigan where a good friend of mine allowed me to rent out his guest suite AND use his workshop for those 4 months. Here are some of the beginning pictures and videos with captions!

Taking down the existing walls...

...so that I could start the insulating process. Used 100% natural sheeps wool which smelled just like a farm! SO many tiny nooks and crannies to fill, it was a very time consuming step surprisingly.

Took the passenger side seat out so that I could put a 10 gallon water tank and then built a platform over it for Luci! (she still hates driving in the van ughhh)

Cutting and drilling holes in a vehicle is STRESSFUL

But was able to install shore power (so I can plug in at a campground or someones house if need be) solar panels, a vent fan and a window so well worth it in the end!

The idea was to have 2 ways to charge the two batteries I purchased to power the van: solar and shore. What was needing power: 4 x 12v puck LED lights, 2 x 12v LED mini lamps, a 12V cooler fridge, 12v water pump for the sink, 120v cell booster, and a 120v wireless router for the Nomad internet I purchased.

Heres my friend Andy who I hired to help with the electrical....did not trust myself enough with this. I learned a lot from him and this process and am SO grateful.
